Common reasons for what babies cry and how to stop from crying.

Sleepiness or fatigue : Sometimes the crying is related to sleep. The baby may just be too tired and wants to go off to sleep but they cannot sleep on their own.

Wet or dirty diaper : Wet and dirty diapers make babies really uncomfortable.

Hunger : This is probably the first thing you think of when your baby cries. Learning to recognize the signs of hunger will help you start feeding your baby beforethe crying stage.

Gas : Gas is a very common problem among all crying babies

Stranger anxiety or fear : sometime some one speaks loudly around the baby and it results in to the fear or anxiety. this may be the reason if baby cries in certain interval.

Teething pain : Teething can be painful as each new tooth pushes through tender young gums. Some babies suffer more than others, but all are likely to be fussy and tearful from teething at some point.

Too cold or too hot : babies often cries if they feel too cold or too hot.

Wants to be held : Babies need a lot of cuddling. They like to see their parents’ faces, hear their voices, and listen to their heartbeats, and can even detect their unique smell. Crying can be their way of asking to be held close.

Needs to burp : Burping isn’t mandatory. But if your baby cries after a feeding, a good burp may be all he needs. Babies swallow air when they breastfeed or suck from a bottle, and this may cause discomfort if the air isn’t released.

Never shake a baby 

Shaken Baby Syndrome occurs when a baby is shaken. The blood vessels in a baby’s head cannot tolerate the impact of shaking and can break.

  • Each year about 1,000 children die from Shaken Baby Syndrome.
  • Death, brain damage, mental retardation, seizures, or blindness may result from shaking a baby.
  • Shaking usually happens when parents or caregivers become frustrated or angry when they are not able to stop the baby from crying.
  • Shaken baby syndrome is 100% preventable.
